A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Academic Project Materials: Course titles, assignment prompts, syllabi, grading rubrics, uploaded documents, guidelines, and special instructions voluntarily submitted to complete orders.
  • Billing & Payment Information: Payment transaction identifiers, billing amounts, and PayPal invoice IDs. We do not store complete credit card numbers or financial passwords; payments are securely processed by authorized third-party gateways (PayPal).
  • Communication Records: Messages exchanged with Mentor James through our internal order message threads or customer support channels.

B. Google User Data (Google OAuth)

When you authenticate using Sign in with Google, Google requests your explicit permission to share specific profile attributes with Mentor James via OAuth 2.0. We access only the minimum standard scopes:

  • Google User ID: A unique identifier to safely recognize your account.
  • Primary Email Address: Used for account creation, critical order updates, delivery notifications, and receipt generation.
  • Full Name & Given Name: Used to personalize your workspace dashboard.
  • Profile Avatar URL: Used to display your user profile picture in the header and navigation bar.

Security Note: Mentor James never requests, views, or stores your Google Account password, private contacts, Google Drive files, or any sensitive Google account data.

C. Automatically Collected Usage Data

When navigating our platform, our servers automatically log technical metadata, including your IP address, browser type, operating system version, referring URLs, session identifiers, and page interaction timestamps. This data is used solely for platform stability, fraud detection, and load management.

3. Google API Services User Data & Limited Use Disclosure

Mentor James's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • No Advertising: Google user data is never used, transferred, or disclosed for serving personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertisements.
  • No Sale of Data: We never sell, rent, or trade Google user data to third-party data brokers, marketing firms, or external entities.
  • No AI Model Training: Google user data is not used to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
  • Limited Human Access: No human reads user data obtained through Google APIs unless you explicitly grant permission (e.g. for support troubleshooting), it is necessary for security investigations, or it is required by law.

  • We never contact, disclose, or share your identity or usage with universities, academic institutions, employers, or collegiate boards.
  • We do not sell, rent, or lease personal information to third parties.

6. Data Storage & Security Measures

  • Database Access Controls: User records and uploaded files are protected by granular Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users can only read and write their own data records.
  • Access Limitation: Mentor James restricts internal data access solely to authorized personnel on a strict need-to-know basis.

7. Data Retention & Your Deletion Rights

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as required to fulfill completed orders and satisfy accounting or tax obligations.

How to Request Account & Data Deletion

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal information at any time. To request data deletion:

  • Send an email to hello@mentorjames.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" from your registered account email.
  • Upon verification, we will permanently purge your profile, uploaded files, and order chat histories from our production databases within 30 days.

Revoking Google Permissions: You can also revoke Mentor James's access to your Google Account at any time directly through your Google Account Security Permissions.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our services are designed exclusively for college, university, and adult learners. Mentor James does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). If we learn that personal data of a minor under 13 has been collected without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete the information.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage tokens (such as authentication session tokens) solely to keep you signed in, remember your order form progress, and ensure secure communication between your browser and our servers.
